The Flood of 2026.

The title of this post sounds so much  more dramatic than it actually was.  Easter morning Sidney and her friend took a typical teenage girl shower.  No big deal.  I opened the pantry door to pull out some food.  I noticed water all over the floor.  I then noticed it on some of the shelves.  As my eyes traveled upward I saw the source of the water.  The pantry is directly below the upstairs bathroom.  I suppose that is a good thing, since I frequent the pantry multiple times a day, we caught the leak super early.

The man that came to do the repair had told me that they 'could' work around all of the stuff in the pantry.  He did mention that many people take the 'opportunity' to clear everything out and do a deep clean.  Ummm...was he hinting at my giant accumulation of a mess.  Our pantry had not been empy since the day we moved in, nearly 15 years ago.

Well, I did have plenty of time, since there were several steps involved in the repair process.  I not only took everything out, I really downsized some things AND decided to put on a fresh coat of paint.  Why not? Do not worry, I put the spices right back to alphabetical order:).
