My First Cowboy Hat.

I got back from a work conference on a Friday morning.  The horse expo started that same Friday.  I have not been able to go to the expo for the past few years, since it is always the same weekend we have been out of town for a dance competition.  To top it off, one of my favorite trainers, Warwick Schiller, was one of the clinicians.  I basically got off the airplane, dropped off my suitcase, and headed straight to the Idaho Center.  I got there in time to see the first clinic.  It was such a fun afternoon.  There were a number of the ladies from the ranch.  The trainer that works with both Levi and I was also one of the clinicians.  She never disappoints, and I always learn a few new things.

I have been wanting to get a nice cowboy hat for awhile now.  One of the vendors was Whiskey Ranch Hat Co.  They used to have a shop here in the Treasure Valley, but have relocated to Arizona.  I jumped at the chance to get a custom hat from them.  It was a fun process.  I went with a straw hat, since I will mostly wear it in the summer.

Some people are surprised that I have become a horse girl.  To be honest, so am I.  It was certainly not something I would have ever predicted.  That being said, if you pulled up in your car to this type of greeting, you would become a horse girl too:).

Every horse needs to be exposed to a teenage girl.  It is a sure fire way to become desensitized.

My mom took care of the horses during a series of work trips, as Sid was working hard with school, her job, and taking care of the neighbors horses.  My mom sent me this cute picture of the horses sun bathing one day.
