The group that used to run the North Wind Winter Jump Series moved out of state last year, so we were not really sure if the series would happen this winter. It is one of our very favorites, so we were super excited when they announced the first show of the series. We registered both Pigeon and Levi. Pigeon and Sidney had not been jumping at all, so they were out of 'jump shape'. Sidney played it safe and only registered Pigeon up through 2' and was going to play it by ear. We packed the horses up and showed up for a day of jumping.
Sidney walked Levi through the course, but she did not end up riding him. He was a bit on edge at first. One of the sliders in our trailer was stuck and my dad was trying to pound it loose while the horses were tied to the trailer. We should have thought better of this, but none of us really thought it through. However, I would call the day a huge success. Levi stood right next to the entry gate the whole day and did remarkably well with all of the commotion.
Claire and Tessa came out to watch. Tessa is their friend from Canada that they met at YWAM last summer.
Here is Levi and I borrowing Pigeon's first place ribbon and pretending it was ours. Well, okay, maybe it was just me as Levi does not look nearly as excited as I do.
