Quilts, Prom and Awana Sleepover.

The girls went over to Mrs. Roberts house during spring break to make a couple more quilts for the community.  I believe they could both get very into quilting.  They even went over one or two more times to finish all of the borders and detail on them.

The girls attended the monthly meeting for the Boise Quilters Club and presented the quilts to the Quilts for Kids organization, which gives quilts to kids in the hospital or displaced by fire.  The girls were able to show off their final product.

They had a booth at the meeting and were able to talk to the members about what they are learning in 4H.  They both came home exhausted, but super excited.

My beautiful, Hallie, went to her first prom.  She had so much fun and looked amazing.

The girls had their Awana Tnt Girls Sleepover night.  I volunteered to help out this year, but NOT to actually sleep over.  I am not that crazy!  It was such a good time.  The girls ate, learned a bible lesson, crafted, played games, watched a movie and got very little sleep.

Ombre Hair

I must confess, I know very little about makeup, hair dye and false eyelashes.  I have two little girls that adore that stuff.  So, I am learning.  Sidney mentioned Ombre hair.  I mentioned that I do not even spend that kind of money on my own hair.  I certainly would not spend it on her hair (yep, that is exactly how the conversation went).  The girls had been scheduled for an afternoon hair cut.  I mentioned to the man that cut Kendall's hair that they were interested in Ombre.  He was very encouraging and talked me into giving it a try.  He gave me a ton of tips and told me exactly what to but.

With that kind of encouragement, I gave it a go!  We stayed with colors that were subtle, since it was our first foray.  Sidney was excited, but totally freaked out.

Sidney went with a reverse Ombre.

Kendall went with a more traditional version.

I would call this a very positive experience and a smashing success for our fist time.  I think we will be even more bold the second time around:).

A Beautiful, but different Easter.

Easter was bittersweet this year.  It was our first Easter without Kevin.  We missed him dearly, but he would have been very proud of his carrying on in his absence.  My parents bought me a beautiful Easter lily, which I have planted in my yard.

The girls looked beautiful.

Kendall has been helping out in nursery.  She volunteered to help Easter morning.  She adores these little ones.  Sidney and I spied on her and caught a glimpse of her reading to one of the little boys.

Lisa came down to help us celebrate.  After church, we went over to Rebecca's for Easter linner and an egg hunt.  Lisa held off the wild children while we finished hiding the eggs.

The kids had a blast, as usual, running to find the eggs.  It seems they will never get too old for this.

They each made out with a huge candy loot.  Of course, the adults had to steal a few pieces for ourselves.

We also managed to demolish way more desserts than should be humanly possible.

Every holiday seems to sneak up on us, as we experience the huge void that Kevin has left in our lives.  I do know, with all my heart, that he would want us to keep living and live to the fullest!

Piano Recital.

Kendall's piano teacher hosted a recital so that each of the students could play their festival songs.  I keep marveling at how grown up this young lady is getting.

She did such a beautiful job.  Her playing has come quite a long ways.

Grandma came with us and brought Kendall a beautiful bouquet of flowers to celebrate.

Spring Break: Baseball and Family

My Dad and Hallie came down for Spring Break.  In true fashion, I put my Dad to work helping me replace some faucets.  He was a good sport about it.  Four of the five faucets went in easy-peasy.  The fifth (and last faucet) took us nearly a full day.  UGH!  We were both tested, but we prevailed!  Dad played ping pong with Kendall and slimed with Sid.  Thankfully no hover board riding for him!

Over spring break, my friend opened her new pottery studio.  We went for the grand opening to cheer her on.  So far, it has been an amazing success.

Jason brought his team down for the Buck's Bags tournament.  They played four games.  Hallie rode down with the team, as she is the manager, but she stayed at our house.  The girls absolutely love their Hallie time.

My Dad and I played our first round of golf for the season.  It was such a beautiful day.  I had been nursing a broken finger, so it was a bit more challenging than it needed to be.  However, I quickly navigated around the finger issue and had a few great holes.
