Willy Wonka, Mustaches and Madness.

Sidney has been participating in Drama Club after school each week for the past three years.  The club does an incredible performance at the end of the year.  However, it has dawned on me that she had never watched a theater performance other than the Nutcracker.  The Treasure Valley Children's Theater was performing a musical rendition of Willy Wonka.  This was a perfect choice, since she had just finished the book and watched both the old an new movies in her reading group.  We had purchased four tickets, but Kevin was not really feeling well.  We called Hannah at the last minute to see if she would take his spot.

It turned into a ladies night out.  The performance was awesome.  The group did a great job of engaging the audience.  We had bubbles to blow during the scene where Charlie drinks the fizzy lifting drink.  Meridian high school wood shop class had made a chocolate cart.  At intermission, they sold Wonka bars with one hidden golden ticket.

This week was mustache and missionary night at Awana.  This is always a fun night for the kids.  Kevin and I have been volunteering in Sidney's class.

Sidney managed to get ahold of a blue sucker.  It turned her whole mouth blue, including her teeth.  I do not recall eating such strange things when I was a child.  Perhaps my memory is failing me.
