Vacation Part 2 - Zoo.

We spent a day at the San Diego Zoo.  We got there when it opened.  As we walked through the gates, I spotted one of the greeters and asked him if we should do the bus tour of the park first.  He was an older gentlemen and gave us all kinds of pro tips.  He recommended the bus tour in the afternoon, when we were tired.  He drew us a walking map with numbered stops.  His map took us to the large animals first.  He said all of those animals would go in for shelter after about 1pm.  we followed his instructions and got some amazing views and photos as our reward.

We took a couple stops for food and treats.  By the end of the day, Kendall's watch said we had walked over 17,000 steps (7ish miles).

Kendall was enamored with the hippos.  Fun fact - hippos do not swim.  They walk along the bottom and buoy up to the top.  They will glide, but the do not swim.

We took the gondola over the park several times.

View from the top.  You almost cannot see there is a zoo below.

In the end, we did enjoy the bus ride.  It was a day well spent!

Vacation Part 1 - Sea World.

We had the best Spring Break vacation.  My sister joined us for 7 days in San Diego.  We stayed in Oceanside, right at the harbor.  It was glorious.  I am breaking this one up into four different parts.  First is our day at SeaWorld.  The highlight of the day, Sidney and my sister decided to go on the 'tallest, fastest and longest dive roller coaster in CA'.  It is called the Emperor.  They went on it not once, but twice.  This picture is hilarious. It looks like the man next to them is napping!

Kendall and Sidney braved the water and went on the river ride.  They both came out completely soaked.  It was a gorgeous day, so they dried in minutes.

We took the harbor Gondola ride.  The view was spectacular.

Of course, it is always breathtaking to see the ocean creatures.

Hands down, we all agreed that the sea lion show was the best.  It was quite comical and entertaining.

The orca show was spectacular.  We had a long conversation that evening about the orcas and did a lot of internet searching about the debate of having them at Sea World.

The dolphin show was amazing.  I have actually had the opportunity to swim with dolphins on several occasions.  They are beautiful creatures.

My sister and I took turns going on the Manta roller coaster.  It is by far my favorite!

The Junk Drawer - March 2022.

So, Kendall and I both decided we did not have enough holes in our head and this happened...

AshLee and her boyfriend visited from Montana recently (no pics)!  While they were here, we played a game of Apples to Apples.  One of the words was round.  I threw in the card 'pancakes'.  Not a single person thought that was a good fit.  I cannot imagine why?  Then, the following morning I saw this....

Picture for enjoyment.  I love putting beautiful flowers in these vases.  It brings me great joy!  It is the little things.

I cannot even begin to count the number of puzzles that I have completed this year that are missing pieces.  One word, Bella.  She no longer jumps up to eat them.  However if I drop one on the floor, she is instantly chewing it up.  Oh the joy.  Here is one puzzle she did not get ahold of.

Meet Lollihops.  Kendall's pink frog.  Her teammate Beka was getting rid of her frog.  Kendall jumped at the opportunity.  We now have 2 dogs, a fish and a frog.  More to come, but that is for a later post.
